Membership Criteria

  • There are two types of membership, full membership and associate membership. A bank or banking-related institution must be based in Korea to obtain a full membership. A branch of a foreign bank operating in Korea may apply for full membership if a branch of a Korean bank operating in the foreign bank’s country is entitled to full membership in its association.
  • All other foreign bank branches in Korea may apply for associate membership. Both full and associate memberships are granted upon approval at the General Meeting of the KFB. Full members hold voting rights at the General Meeting. Associate members do not have voting rights, but they may attend the General Meeting and voice their opinions.
